PACADAR begins the supply of large precast BOX girders for the project “Airport - Tarajalejo - Morro Jable Corridor. Section: Costa Calma – Pecenescal” on the island of Fuerteventura.
These beams of 35 m in length and 160 T in weight, corresponding to the structure "Pecenescal Viaduct" of the project mentioned, have been manufactured by PACADAR at its factory in Utrera (Seville), and then transported by road to the port of Cadiz, where they were shipped to Fuerteventura.
The Joint Venture Costa Calma, the successful bidderer led by OHL, entrusted to PACADAR in 2013 the manufacture of four 396x80 box girders of 13 metres in length and 48 tons, and two 396x100 box girders of 15 metres in length and 60 tons, which were supplied by sea in May 2014.
Subsequently, in July 2017, the Joint Venture Costa Calma awarded PACADAR the contract to manufacture the beams for the Pecenescal Viaduct, which is expected to be supplied during this month of February. These girders, of 35 m in length and 160 T in weight, are the largest precast prestressed concrete beams ever installed in the Canary Islands.
PACADAR, with over 75 years of experience in the design, manufacture and assembly of large precast concrete structural elements, is the longest-standing company in the world engaged in the systematic manufacture of precast prestressed concrete elements, and has currently become a benchmark in the sector, both at national and international level.
